Empowering parents of neurodivergent kids with a little science and a lot of heart.
Hi! I'm Alyssa- Parent Coach, Behavior Analyst, and mom. After 10 years providing traditional ABA therapy, I knew there had to be a better way to support parents. With virtual Parent Coaching, parents are in the driver's seat. Afterall, you know your child best! My goal is to be your partner and collaborate on simple strategies using creativity and compassion that will foster positive, lasting changes for your child's development & for your whole family.

What is Parent Coaching?
Our style of Parent Coaching is based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis and our mission is to support neurodiverse individuals. We provide targeted, ABA-based behavioral coaching from the convenience of your smartphone, tablet, or computer. More specifically, our service can be used in any of the following scenarios:
-
Providing one-on-one support for parents of children with autism and/or ADHD, from toddlers to adults.
-
Emotional regulation skills: supporting an individual when he/she is emotionally dysregulated or in distress
-
Developing vocational skills for neurodivergent adults
-
Identifying preventative strategies for meltdowns-- being proactive versus reactive
-
Help with executive functioning skills: time management, impulse control, planning, organization, working memory, flexible thinking, task initiation
-
Improve social skills: perspective-taking, developing friendships, self-advocacy, and connecting through play or special interests while being your authentic self

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are the qualifications of your coach? A: Alyssa graduated with a Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of Texas - San Antonio in 2015. Alyssa became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2016 and has been licensed in the state of Texas since 2018. She has broad experience providing ABA therapy to neurodivergent children and adults in a variety of settings, as well as working with the whole family unit. She is also a parent to a beautiful, 22-month old girl!
Q: Are you in-network or process claims with any insurance providers? A: We are private-pay only. We are not in network with any insurance providers.
Q: What is ABA? A: Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science of learning and behavior. The goal is to understand the why behind behaviors, increase behaviors that are helpful and teach replacement behaviors if harmful or affect learning.
Q: Is Parent Coaching meant to be a replacement for ABA therapy? A: No, Parent Coaching is not a replacement for ABA therapy. However, it can be a great way to work on skills learned in ABA therapy in the comfort of your own home!
Q: Is Parent Coaching the same as ABA therapy? A: No. ABA therapy is a holistic approach towards improving behavior over a long period of time. Parent Coaching is intended to be much more specific and targeted than ABA therapy. Most ABA therapy treatment plans can be anywhere from 10 to 40 hours per week; our Parent Coaching will never be more than three, one-hour sessions per week. While ABA therapy is only focused on the individual receiving treatment, our Parent Coaching will always involve a child and parent/caregiver.
Q: Is Parent Coaching the same as therapy? A: Parent coaching is focused on improving the relationship between you and your child and finding solutions for your family. Psychotherapy is focused on overcoming the problems arising from mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, or PTSD. As a Parent Coach, I don't provide psychotherapy. If you think you or your family could benefit from therapy, I encourage you to seek a qualified professional in your area!
Q: Do I have to live in the United States? A: No, as long as you have access to Zoom, we can find a time and solution that works for you!
Q: How are coaching appointments conducted? A: All coaching appointments will be conducted over Zoom. Our Coach will make sure you have the correct information at least 24 hours before your appointment!
Q: May my child be present during a Coaching session? A: Coaching sessions are usually parents-only; however if observation of your child is deemed beneficial for appropriate recommendations, this may be suggested.
Q: What should I expect during a coaching session? A: First, during your free brainstorming call, we'll spend some time going over your challenges, hopes, and goals about the future of your family. Once we start coaching sessions, we will begin my selecting your top 3 priorities, review strategies to try that are specific to your family's needs, and I will provide you with additional resources as needed. Session notes will be sent after every meeting, and we will schedule our next session. You will have unlimited messaging support between sessions to ask me any questions or share success stories!
